Dr. Michelle Simon, Ph.D., ND
Dr. Michelle Simon has been practicing as a naturopathic doctor since 2002 when she graduated from Bastyr University with a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. She also holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her work there focused on ion-selective microelectrodes used for cardiac research.
Since her time as a Biomedical Engineer, her perspective on healthcare radically expanded to include recognizing the amazing, inherent healing ability of a body in balance. This inspired her completion of the four-year Naturopathic Medicine program at Bastyr University and a family practice residency in Seattle.
Dr. Michelle Simon currently serves on the Washington State Health Technology Assessment Program Clinical committee. She is also the Co-Director of the Communities in Need/Integrated Care Options Project, a project of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP). This program is designed to bring alternative forms of medicine to rural and under-served communities around the state of Washington.
Dr. Simon grew up in Vermont, where she learned an appreciation of the beauty of nature. That appreciation continues to grow here in the Pacific Northwest where she enjoys hiking, motorcycling, and travel.
